David has been painting all of his life but has specialized in watercolors and water media since 2010.

He says “There is a freedom in watercolor which adds to the naturalness and excitement in a painting”.

His representational style emphasizes design and movement over strict realism.

David normally paints in his studio but also participates in a number of plein air events each year.

He only uses animal friendly supplies, such as synthetic hair brushes and both paints and papers that avoid animal ingredients.

He is President of the Madison Art Guild, Vice President of the Madison Watercolor Society, a member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and a professional memberof Wisconsin Visual Artists.
